In the U20 World Team Trials (Freestyle), Jackson Blum took third place at 61 kg. Blum opened the tournament with a bye before losing in the quarterfinals. Sollars secured four of those victories by technical fall. In the finals, Sollars faced Hayden Walters (Michigan) for a Best Two of Three series. Walters won both matches to claim the U23 National Title.
Tyler Lillard reached the semifinals in the 79 kg bracket of U23 Nationals Freestyle after wins over Bode Marlow (Pitt) and Brett Smith (Northern Illinois). He lost to Matthew Singleton of North Carolina State in the semifinals before moving into consolation rounds. Lillard defeated Gunner Filipowicz (Army) by an 11-7 decision for fifth place.
