Slaughter cattle represented 12 percent of sales, and replacement cattle made up one percent.
Detailed price data showed that medium and large steers weighing between 295 to 990 pounds brought average prices ranging from $291.00 to $550.00 per hundredweight depending on weight class. Heifers in similar weight ranges averaged between 265 to 805 pounds, with prices mostly between $307.50 and $475.00 per hundredweight.
Slaughter cows sold for an average range of $160.00 to $185.00 per hundredweight depending on grade and dressing percentage; slaughter bulls reached as high as $228.00 per hundredweight for top grades.
