Elkhart woman receives over seven-year sentence for armed bank robbery

Undrea House, a 29-year-old resident of Elkhart, Indiana, has been sentenced to 85 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges of bank robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. The sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Cristal C. Brisco.

According to court documents, House entered a bank in August 2024, where she pointed a loaded handgun at an employee and demanded cash. She left the scene with more than $1,000 and returned to her apartment. Law enforcement officers later located and arrested her the same day.

Acting United States Attorney M. Scott Proctor announced the sentencing. “House was sentenced to 85 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release.”

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with support from the Goshen Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Joel Gabrielse prosecuted the case.
