The Herd, the official drumline of the Indianapolis Colts, announced on May 20 that it is opening auditions for new members to join the squad for the 2026 season.

The announcement matters to fans and musicians interested in joining a high-profile performance group associated with an NFL team. The opportunity allows skilled percussionists to become part of game day entertainment at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have received or will receive a high school diploma or its equivalent by June 1, 2026. They also need reliable transportation to and from Indianapolis on most Sundays from August 2026 through January 2027. Interested candidates can apply online at Colts.com/Herd starting May 20, where they must complete an application and submit a video audition as outlined on the website. The deadline for applications and video submissions is June19.

Finalists will be selected before July 1 and invited to live auditions scheduled for July 19 at Colts headquarters at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center. Finalists are expected to learn the full Herd cadence specific to their desired position in advance of this event.

According to the release, “Established in 2024, The Herd performs on field and in the stands for 63,000 fans at every home game, bringing high-energy beats and unmatched Colts showmanship to gamedays. With a mix of skilled percussionists, choreographed routines and a bold presence, The Herd embodies the passion of Colts Nation, ensuring every performance is loud, proud and exciting.”

The organization said it works with House of Wolves Entertainment to help develop and recruit talent for The Herd’s upcoming season.
